Trust through reliability
By Tobias Krist, HURCO Sales
“With HURCO, we have a top partner at our side.”
Michael Veith, owner of Veithec Maschinenbau
We have been accompanying Veithec Maschinenbau on its successful journey for almost ten years. Michael Veith literally founded the company in a garage – with one machine and a firm determination: to build something of his own. Over the years, Veithec grew steadily, more employees joined the company, and the number of machines increased continuously. In 2006, the first HURCO machine was purchased, which played a decisive role in optimizing production – the beginning of a partnership that has grown stronger ever since.
For Michael Veith, reliability is the most important criterion when choosing his suppliers – a requirement that we at HURCO understand only too well. Especially in contract manufacturing, where deadlines are often tight, you have to be able to rely on each other. The relationship with HURCO deepened further, especially in 2008, when Veithec gained not only ten new employees but also a larger production area through an acquisition. This expansion also brought new challenges, which we were able to meet with our machines and our support – always there when Veithec needed our assistance.
Veithec serves a wide range of industries, from plant and mechanical engineering to the food industry and medical technology. The company plans to continue growing, particularly in the medical sector, and to expand its expertise to additional materials. The manufacture of small and medium-sized mechanical components and spare parts has now established itself as its core business.
“Time is an important cost factor for us. That’s why we have to avoid reworking at all costs.” – Michael Veith
Our machines are designed to be suitable for both experienced professionals and newcomers. This makes it easier to train new employees and enables Veithec to respond quickly to customer requests and new orders. A clear structure has been established to ensure smooth operations: The 13 three-axis machines are operated by all skilled workers. They regularly exchange information and keep each other up to date. The 5-axis centers, on the other hand, are operated by two specialists who document their work in detail and record their experiences for the company. Anyone who needs additional advice can contact one of our application engineers at any time – a support service that has proven its worth.
However, market demand for complex components is constantly increasing. To meet this demand, Veithec is planning to increase 5-axis machining and purchase a CAD/CAM system for the entire company. HURCO is also providing support here, as our Winmax control system will then be able to play to its strengths: import STEP files, start the simulation, and you’re ready to go. We look forward to continuing to support and equip Veithec in the best possible way on this exciting path to the future!
“Our centers are in operation 8 to 10 hours a day. There is little room for downtime.” – Michael Veith
