More Information

With the new Solid Model Import option, you can import 3D models in DXF or STEP format – even those with freeform surfaces – and use them to generate conversational data blocks.
This feature offers many advantages: it allows you to program directly at the machine without detours, and thanks to the solid model, you can quickly perform 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis machining operations.

You’ll save valuable time, as solid models can be loaded directly into the control – eliminating the need to manually create complex 2D dimensioned drawings.

In this tutorial, Julian Ertl focuses on surface milling.
He explains which settings need to be configured, what to watch out for, and provides clear step-by-step instructions on how to make the most of this surfacing feature.
